This DIY kit includes everything you need to customise your own high-quality cotton tote bag, so beginners and experienced stitchers can enjoy creating something beautiful, practical and completely unique.

Made from eco-friendly cotton, these thick, sturdy tote bags are perfect for embroidery and designed to be used and loved long after you’ve finished stitching.

Each tote measures approximately 35cm wide x 30cm tall and features a magnetic button closure plus a zipped internal pocket to keep your smaller essentials secure.

Simply choose your design, then decide whether you’d like to stitch with yarn or embroidery floss. Various selection boxes will pop up as you customise your kit.

Choosing Between Yarn & Embroidery Floss

Not sure which option to choose? Both work beautifully,  it simply depends on the finished look you prefer!

- Yarn: Creates a thicker, softer and fuller embroidered finish, perfect for bold designs and a beautifully textured handmade look. Our yarn is 100% acrylic, 10 ply and wonderfully soft. It can easily be split into finer strands, giving you the flexibility to create different stitch thicknesses throughout your design. Each skein contains over 10 metres of yarn.

- Embroidery Floss: Creates a finer, more detailed finish, perfect for delicate designs and intricate stitching. We use premium Anchor embroidery floss, made from 100% Egyptian cotton. Each skein contains 8 metres of six-strand floss, allowing you to easily adjust the number of strands to create anything from fine, delicate details to fuller, more defined stitches.

If you choose yarn, your kit includes 5 colours.

If you choose embroidery floss, you’ll select your favourite colour palette from the options shown in the images, with 12 skeins of floss included.

Want even more colours? You can add individual yarn or floss colours to your kit for an additional charge.

Your Video Tutorial & Stitch Guide

Every design comes with an online YouTube video tutorial to guide you through the embroidery process step by step, so you can stitch along at your own pace.

Some tutorials may be demonstrated using yarn even if you’ve chosen embroidery floss, but don’t worry,  the stitching techniques and concepts are the same.

You’ll also receive a stitch guide specifically for your chosen pattern, including my go-to stitch recommendations and, when using embroidery floss, the recommended number of strands for each stitch.


How It Works

  1. Choose your favourite embroidery design.

  2. Choose whether you’d like to stitch with yarn or embroidery floss.

  3. Select your yarn colours or your favourite 12-colour floss palette.

  4. Add any additional individual colours you’d like.

  5. Pop your tote into the included embroidery hoop and follow your stitch guide and step-by-step video tutorial.

  6. Rinse away any water-soluble markings or stabiliser as directed.

  7. Enjoy your beautiful new tote bag — embroidered by you!
